Full Crestron Digital Media Equipped Basement Home Cinema
As part of a whole house audio video system we installed in London, we also had the opportunity to design and install this beautiful basement home cinema room. This home cinema installation benefits from full HD audio and video distribution and the client has an impressive range of sources available (Sky HD, Kaleidescape DVD Server, Arab Sat and Apple TV) not to mention audio only sources – Radio and Kaleidescape Music. A Panasonic 50″ HD Plasma does a stunning job of displaying all sources, with a Bowers & Wilkins CM9 boxed speaker system serving up the excellent sound track. Although this room is closer in design to our usual living room systems this dedicated room really performs. As a space, it is relatively small which allows the system to create a very immersive experience. When in the country, the client’s young family use the system daily and, after they’ve to bed, the clients sit down as a couple to enjoy the latest blockbusters. This home cinema room easily has the most use of any cinema we have installed!
Crestron TPS-6X Control:
A Crestron 6″ radio touchpanel allows full control of audio video sources in the room, in addition to full heating and lighting control. The room is used a lot as a family room where the client’s young family come to watch films and children’s TV; this meant it was imperative that the system was easy to use. One button press brings all equipment on and allows them to start watching, while the system has also easily been mastered by non-English speaking family and staff.
